Last will and Testament of Samuel Winsor Swains Island Bonavista Bay Newfoundland. In the name of God Amen This is to certify that I Samuel Winsor, now residing in the above named settlement, being feeble in body but perfectly sound in mind do make this my last will and testament.
First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and as for my body after my breath is expired. I leave that to be decently interred in the Church of England graveyard, And as for my worldly goods which God hath graciously blessed me with, and made me his steward of my will is to dispose of it in the manner following.
To my two sons William and Peter their heirs and successors I bequeath the sum of four hundred pounds each £400.
To my three daughters Fanny, Abigail and Esther I bequeath the sum of fifty pounds each £50.
To Louisa Winsor I bequeath thirty pounds £30 and to Florence Winsor twenty pounds £20 And lastly I leave the sum of ten pounds for the repairs of St. John's Church, Swains Island. Signed Samuel x Winsor his mark.
This will was made in the presence of us, and in the presence of each other this first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six. Edwin Vincent. Joseph x Tiller his mark witnesses.
