They had three children, Elaine Blandford, Diane Blandford and Joseph Blandford. Elaine Blandford has one daughter, Milena Francesca Pizzi. Diane Blandford has two boys, Kristopher Murphy and Liam Murphy. Kristopher Murphy fathered a girl, Hailey May. Joseph Blandford has not been heard from since a falling out with our dad a number of years ago, so I have no information on him. Calvin Blandford married Stella White. Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Florida Samuel James Blandford Jr. SMC, U.S. Navy (Ret) passed away on October 21, 2009. He was born January 3, 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y. the son of Samuel J. Brandford and Janet Smith Blandford. A proud and loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Blandford retired from the U.S. Navy following 21 years of distinguished and decorated service, later retiring from the U.S. Postal Service following 22 years service. He enjoyed membership in the Jacksonville Men's Garden Club, the Jacksonville Stamp Collectors Club, the Wesconnett Lodge # 297 F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Bodies, the Moroccan Temple, and a devoted member of St. Catherine's Episcopal Church since 1961. Mr. Blandford was predeceased by his son, Stephen Brandford. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores N. Blandford; his daughter, Diana B. Lambert (Warren); son Kenneth Blandford (Maureen); grandsons Eric, Jeffery, Keith and Kevin; numerous great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Blandford will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the graveside in the Garden of the Masonic at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, with Mother Nancy Suellian, Pastor of St. Catherin's Episcopal Church officiating . Full Military Honors, Fleet Reserve Rites, and Masonic Rites, will be conferred. Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday afternoon at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home at the address above. Family suggests memorial donations may be made to either the Shriners Children's Hospitals or th St. Catherine's Episcopal Church.
