The ceremony was performed by Rev. Laite, of Twillingate. The bride looked very charming in a dress of ivory satin with bridal veil. The wedding chorus was beuatifully rendered by Mrs. George Blandford as the bridal party wended their way to the altar. The bride was given in marriage by her brother Mr. Philip Blandford. Miss Beatrice Snelgrove, U.C. Teacher, assisted as matron of homor, while Mr. Cluney Blandford, brother of the bride, acted as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the groom where two hundred guests partook of a sumptuous repast. Dancing was kept up until the wee small hours of the morning. Anecdote | Frank remained in the Herring Neck area for all of his life. See "The Story of the Marilla", currently available on the Notre Dame Bay Genealogy Project page on the World Wide Web. Frank was listed as being at school in the 1921 census.
Marguerite Taylor, "Adventure with John Esau" - " . . . was at Hatchet Harbour when we met Frank Kearley. Born in 1905, . . . he was a sucessful fisherman for thirty-six years and owned thirty-six fishing traps. Then followed a long career as a Postal Operator. In between, of course, like most of his comtemporaries, he built boats." Marguerite then called Frank a "warm-hearted gentleman".
Frank was particularly attached to Shawn Frank Kearley, who Frank believed was named after him. (This wasn't in fact the case; Shawn was named after his mother's grandfather.) Frank gave Shawn a gold pocket watch which Frank's father John had given to him.
In 1943, Frank bought all of his father, John's, fishing equipment from him for $350 pursuant to a formal purchase and sale agreement.
In September 1927, Frank and his father stayed at the Primmer House in Twillingate.

Marriage | She married Levi Denzolo Blandford on 21 October 1881 in Saint John's, Newfoundland. Sophia Ledrew was, age 26, Levi Denzolo Blandford was, age ~19. Married by Rev. Jackson2 |
Death | She died on 12 February 1886 at age 30. At Herring Neck on the 12th inst., Sophia, the beloved wife of Mr. Levi Blandford, and the youngest daughter of the late Capt. John Ledrew, of St. John's.
The deceased was born in Cupids, Conception Bay, on the 20th of May, 1855, and with her parents removed to St. John's when she was fourteen years of age, where she continued to reside until her marriage in 1881.
Shortly after reaching St. John's she was constrained in the Holy Spirit to yield her heart to the Savior, and from that period until her death, lived a consistent Christian life. During the first two years of her married life, she might be seen in company with her husband (who is an earnest Christian worker) wending her way to the sanctuary, whenever its doors were open for Divine service.
During the past two and a half years, and especially during the past six months, she was called to suffer extreme pain and weakness of body, all of which was endured with exemplary patience and resignation. As death drew near she often spoke of the
Land of pure delight Where saints immortal reign.
Two hours before she died, she was talking and smiling; among other things she said I feel merry tonight, but I shall be merrier tomorrow evening in heaven, singing the praises of my Redeemer.
Her remains were interred in the cemetery adjoining the Methodist Church, in the presence of a large concourse of spectators, on the afternoon of Sabbath last. Prior to the burial, the large congregation filling it to its utmost capacity assembled in the Church, with an almost equally large number who could not gain admission, where an earnest and suitable sermon was preacned by the Reverend R. Bramfitt, from the words: And there shall be no night there (Rev. 22,5).
