Isabella is her mother and she was a Gale from Bedale (of which there are many). She married William Turnbull who was a gardener and they all lived in Constable Burton near Bedale until about 1829. At this time nearby Darlington was the .com of the world and people were flocking to the town because of coal and railways manufacture. William and Isabella took the Royal Turks Inn on Bondgate and it turned out badly for William. He died of delirium tremors (the publicans occupational hazard ) in 1840. John parker hunt my great great grandfather as far as I know came over from England to Twillingate and later to Greenspond. His children were Ellen ( or Eleanor) who married a Wheeler and lived in Twillingate, a daughter Bertha who married a Stratton and moved to Cape Breton, a daughter Louisa who married a Goulding and moved to Gambo and son Thomas who married Jane Amelia Peckford and lived in Greenspond . Thomas and Jane had a large family. One of their sons Thomas was my grandfather. He married Mary Starks and had two daughters Janie and Maggie. Maggie was my mother. - Mary Blackwood Burry.¹
