Death	He died on 2 May 1891 at age 88 in Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, United States. The Harbor Grace Standard, 19 May 1891: Deaths--At Painesville, Ohio, U.S.A., on Sunday, 3rd May (sic). Rev. Richard Sheppard a native of Yorkshire, England, Methodist Minister, aged 88 years. Elsewhere appears the notice of the decease of the Rev. Richard Sheppard, brother-in-law of John Bemister, Esq., of this town. Mr. Sheppard came to this island in connection with the Wesleyan Missionary Society, about 1830, and fulfilled several appointments here, the last of which was the Circuit of Harbor Grace. In 1834, he married Maria Ann, eldest daughter of the late William H. Bemister (sic), Esq., of Carbonear and left for New Brunswick, by appointment of the British Conference where he laboured for several years. He then removed to the United States of America and after a time retired from the Ministy and located. Mrs. Sheppard is yet living and blessed with good health. She retains a lively recollection of her native place and the associates of her youth. She enjoys the company of such of her children as live near her. Others passed away in the prime of life.1
