Obituary	The obituary for Henry Blandford appeared in at Hamilton Times on 8 October 1903 . THE LATE HENRY BLANDFORD Hamilton Times: Henry Blandford, one of the best know business men in this city, passed away early this morning. He had been sick for about three and a half years with bronchitis and asthma. Mr. Blandford was in his 71st year, having been born at Cirencester, County of Gloucester, England, in the year 1833. He learned carving and gilding in the old country. At the age of 17 he came to America and settled in Philadelphia, where he continued his trade with Mr. J. F. Earis, owning one of the largest and oldest picture stores there. In 1852 he married Matilda Shill, who died in 1880 and many will still remember the many acts of kindness bestowed upon them by this most lovable person. About 1862 he came to Hamilton, and has resided here ever since, having' carried on the art business here for nearly forty years at 47 James street, north and 59 King street east. Owing to ill health he sold out to Mr. John R. Thompson. Mr. Blandford was the father of R. F. Blandford of London, formerly of the Richard Soap Works, Woodstock.³

She was attended by Misses Francis BLANDFORD, Clara EDGAR and Katie RUXTON, while Mr. Sydney BLANDFORD, B. L., supported the groom. After the ceremony, a supper was served at the residence of Capt. BLANDFORD, after which dancing was kept up until the early hours. Mr. BLANDFORD is one of the prosperous young businessmen of Greenspond. They received a large number of valuable presents.

Anecdote	In Greenspond, Bonavista, Newfoundland. For more than 40 years, Darius was the pillar of the Church as well as customs officer of that community. As customs officer, he would "clear" as many as 400 vessels in a single season, fishing vessels, sealing vessels, pitprop boats, all kinds of craft that sailed outside Newfoundland's coastal waters. It was one of the numerous ways why Greenspond got the title of. "The Capital of the North".
